Harry stood outside Main Engineering on his first day as the Ship’s Chief Engineer, and he had wondered why Starfleet had moved him from Security to Engineering. He knew that he had excelled in both departments in the Academy, but here he was about to take over Main Engineering. As he stepped through the doors, he took a deep breath. Suddenly, a Lieutenant approached him and asked, “ Excuse me, Sir? Who are you and what are you doing in Engineering?”

Harry replied, "I am Lieutenant Harry Stevens, and I am the new Chief Engineer of the U.S.S Liberty.” He continued, "And who are you?” asking the question to the young officer, who gulped, knowing that he was talking to his new boss. The young officer responded, "I am Ensign Nicols, Sir,” to Harry’s question, knowing full well that his next question would be, "Who is in charge at the moment?” He stated Lieutenant Drake has been in charge for the last few days and is in your office, Sir”

“Thank you, Ensign,” replied Harry, giving a nod to the young officer, and started to head over to his new office. He noticed his new officers going about their duties in an orderly fashion, and his first task was a drill to see how they acted once he had done with Lieutenant Drake. Upon reaching the door, he punched in his Security code, and it opened. He entered the office and found a blonde-haired lady sitting behind his desk.

= Chief Engineers Office=

“ Lieutenant Drake, I presume?” stated Harry, looking back at her as she raised her head. She replied, “ And who is asking?” replying with a question of her own, as she checked Harry out, noticing how handsome he was, but still not sure about him until he gave a reply that suited her. Harry responded” I am Lieutenant Harry Stevens, and I am the new Chief Engineer of the USS Liberty.” he continued, “You are hereby relieved.”

She looked at him carefully and then brought up his service jacket to confirm who he was. Harry handed the PADD with his orders on. Upon looking at both of them, she suddenly rose from the chair and said, “ I stand relieved, Sir,” moving from behind the desk so that Harry could take his place. He responded, “Thank you, Lieutenant,” taking his seat behind the desk.

Harry continued, “I want a full report on the status of the Engines and the power supply to other departments.” Looking back at her, he finished, “You have three days, Lieutenant, to get it done. Dismissed.” As Sharron left the office that she had held for the last few months, she called out, “ Listen up, everyone, our new chief wants a full systems rundown and a full power check in three days.”

“Three days!” exclaimed one of the engineers, who continued, “That would take all the shifts to do,” knowing full well that it was an undertaking and a half. Sharron responded, “ That is what he wants, Ensign, so let’s get to it, shall we?” Looking around the room, she finished, “Dismissed,” as the Engineers started to return to their stations.
