Aurora sat at her desk staring at a blank computer screen before finally making up her mind and asking communications to open a channel to her father’s ship. She was hoping he was within communications distance, as she had news she knew he’d want to hear.

A few minutes passed before she finally looked upon her father’s face. “Father it is good to see you again” she raised her hand in the traditional Vulcan greeting before lowering it again.

"Aurora." Her father greeted her. His hand raised in the Vulcan salute. "It is good to see you." He answered and waited for her to continue.

“I have news” Aurora looked at her father. “I am to be bonded, to Savar, just as you wished.”

“Did I hear the words bonded and Savar?” Aurora’s mother appeared onscreen alongside her husband. “I thought the two of you didn’t want that?”

“I was mistaken mother” Aurora smiled. “Savar and I are very much in love and we plan to fully bond as soon as we get home to Vulcan.” She looked at her father waiting for his response.

He father spoke again. "This is welcomed news. Savar is a most logical choice for a mate. You have my consent and blessing for this bonding to proceed."

“Thank you father” Aurora smiled the biggest smile yet.

“So where is Savar?” Her mother looked at Aurora curiously.

“He’s doing his job, he is the XO of a starship these days!” She saw the look on her mother’s face. “I’ll call him and see if he’s available.” She tapped her comm badge. =^= Vali to Commander Savar, do you have a few moments Commander? =^=

=^= A few Lieutenant. I take it you wish to see me? I will be there momentarily.=^=

~ Shortly afterwards ~

Aurora offered her mate an apologetic look. “F7orgive me for calling you Savar but my parents would like to say hello to their future son-in-law, as the Humans call it.”

He looked at the viewscreen where Aurora's parents were sitting. Her mother smiling, her father composed but with a glint of approval in his eyes.

"Greetings to you both. I hope you are in good health." He addressed Aurora's parents.

“It’s good to see you Savar” Aurora’s mother smiled warmly. “I see you’ve finally won over my daughter’s fears.”

"I believe it was more of we both realized we were better and stronger together than apart." Savar replied diplomatically.

“Well I am happy for you both” Deanna smiled warmly and looked at her husband.

Sorel peered at them through the viewscreen. "A most satisfactory union. My blessings on you both." He intoned gravely. Peace and long life.'

Aurora raised her hand giving the respectful sign “Live long and prosper father”

Savar's hand rose in the Vulcan salute. "May you both continue to live long and prosper." He added.

As the screen went blank Aurora breathed a sigh of relief. “That went well, I was expecting a lecture about being sure of my decision and how many grandchildren to provide!” She grinned.

"Those will come when your mother next contacts you. Which I suspect will be within the next 72 hours." Savar replied. "You can be sure of it."

“Most likely” Aurora nodded. “I won’t be pushed into having children, it’ll be when we’re ready and not a moment before.”

"As it should be Aurora." Savar answered in support of her statement.

Aurora smiled warmly. “The Pon’farr is normally a time of calling our people together to bond and to ... have families. If you wish I can continue with my birth control and stop that from happening. It’s not like we won’t see each other for another seven years.”

"I believe it is my wish for you to continue your birth control Aurora. To have a child now is irresponsible. We need time to ourselves before we start a family." Savar answered.

Aurora nodded. “That’s acceptable, I would rather we have the time to be together as a couple first.”

"Most definitely." Savar agreed.

“I will remind my parents of that when the calls start!” She grinned.

"I have no doubt you will Aurora. In your own subtle way." Savar remarked.

Aurora nodded. “Thank you for coming and I’m sorry to have interrupted for a private matter during working hours.”

"No apology is needed Aurora. Dealing with family especially at this particular time is a given." Savar remarked.

Aurora nodded. “I’m very much looking forward to being your wife Savar, it’s been a long time coming.”

"Our marriage is the culmination of our relationship reaching a logical conclusion Aurora. That being said I too an looking forward to being your husband and the union of our souls."

Aurora smiled the biggest smile yet. “I will stand proudly at your side for the rest of my life Savar, that I promise you.”

"I also promise my love and support to you Aurora.”

Aurora smiled warmly, she couldn't wait to start on the road of married life with Savar. She was certain it would be a very rewarding relationship.
