Having returned to Vulcan for the remainder of shore leave, Aurora marvelled at the surroundings of Savar’s home. She wasn’t sure what his home on Vulcan would look like, or where he’d have chosen to settle she was pleasantly surprised by what she found. “This is your home? Savar it’s .... beautiful. I love it!!”
Savar stood in front of the large picture window of his home in what was the living room of the house that was nestled in a valley surrounded by majestic mountains that towered over the house and dry riverbed below. The mountains provide some relief from the oppressive heat of the Vulcan day and night the air was pleasantly cool.
"Correction, it is our home Aurora. It has waited patiently for many years for your arrival and now you are here." He paused before adding, "I am glad it meets with your approval. I tried to incorporate many elements of what you liked into the house. That it be bright and airy. With ample open space. I even had a garden put in and different plants placed in rooms. I remember your love for flowers and plants."
“Savar it’s ... more than I could ever have wished for!” She practically ran around looking in every room and taking in her surroundings. It was like being a child inspecting a new home. “Thank you so much.” She walked up to him and gave him a loving and romantic kiss.
"It is nothing more than you deserve Aurora." He replied as the kiss broke. "I hope it pleases you. I think you should look at the garden. I believe you will find it especially pleasing."
Aurora nodded and headed outside, even though it was a usual hot day on Vulcan the positioning of the house made it feel cooler. “How ..?” Aurora walked along the vegetable garden. “Some of these are native to Betazed, how did you get them to grow here?” She marvelled as she took in the whole garden. “It’s so beautiful here! You’ll have to drag me back to the ship!”
"Patience, a great deal of patience along with trial and error." Savar answered as a trace of a smile graced his face. "Not to mention the person it is for is very special to me. Failure was not an option."
Aurora smiled before her smile faded a little. “Savar I have something I need to tell you.” She took his hand and slowly walked back inside the house. Walking over to the sofa she sat down motioning for him to sit too. “I was talking to Anna during my medical, I was worried that I hadn’t taken my hypo during our time together.” She paused. “Savar it seems that because I’m a hybrid ...” She paused again. “I can’t conceive children!”
Savar was silent for several seconds before he reacted in a very unVulcan way. He wrapped his arms around Aurora ands just held her close for several seconds before he finally spoke. "It is alright Aurora. If you truly wish to be a mother we can adopt. There are many Vulcan children that need a mother and father." He looked at her. "This announcement does not lessen my love for you." He hugged her again. "I believe if you are agreeable that we should adopt a boy and girl babies, a brother and sister."
Aurora hadn’t been expecting that reaction, she wrapped her arms around Savar and held on tightly. “I’m not averse to adopting but I want to have our baby Savar. Not now but at some point. Anna said that I could have an embryo implanted, I’d have to have hormone therapy first but it would mean I could carry our child.”
"I am agreeable to that option when we are ready for children Aurora." He studied her for several seconds. "You will be a most remarkable mother Aurora."
“I hope so!” Aurora looked up into Savar’s eyes. “I don’t want you to be stuck with a wife who can’t give you children to carry on your heritage. I know how important that heritage is.”
"I am not stuck with you Aurora. I love you. So no more talk of being stuck. You do yourself a disservice." He answered firmly.
Aurora nodded and smiled. “On the upside I don’t have to worry about taking birth control.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I just need to rest here and get used to the intensity of our bonding.”
"You can rest here on the sofa or in the master bedroom on the bed there. It is extremely comfortable Aurora."
Aurora nodded. “Come lie with me? If I lie there alone I’ll just end up staring at the ceiling and not getting any rest. At least if I cuddle up to you I might actually sleep.”
"A service I am happy to preform Aurora." Savar replied rising from the sofa and taking her hand.
“Standing up Aurora smiled warmly. “I can’t wait to see the bed.” Walking into the bedroom her eyes lit up as she saw what she was hoping for, a king size four poster bed complete with curtains. “You did it! You really did it!!” She calmed herself down as she knew she was acting like a giddy little schoolgirl.
"It is what you talked about Aurora. I do not wish you to want for anything in this house or in our marriage and especially in me." Savar answered.
“I could never want anything more from you Savar, you are everything I need. My heart and soul are yours, they always have been and always will be.”
"And my heart and soul are yours Aurora. They have been since the day we first met." He revealed.
Aurora smiled the biggest smile yet as they settled onto the bed and cuddled up in Savar’s arms.
Savar kissed the top of her head as they lay together on the bed.
Savar’s kiss was all the comfort Aurora needed. She was soon fast asleep in Savar’s arms.
Savar stroked Aurora's cheek as he continued to hold her as she slept. He would hold her as long as necessary.
