Mission: Healing of Minds
Location: Captain's Quarters

"That does seem to be the norm. Perhaps we've done something to upset them. My dream consisted of a lot of fire consuming the thing which I have built over the years. But what I did note was there was no Earth element in either the dream or the vision. Seems strange to me." His brain was entering counselor mode despite his tiredness.

"Seems very disturbing" she agreed, wondering why they had targeted Remal.."was it a premonition, or more a warning so you think?"

"I hope it wasn't a premonition." He proclaimed with wide eyes. "And I've studied dream interpretation but have never needed to analyze my own dreams. Not before now anyway. This is why we need to talk with someone else, someone who can be nonbias." He sighed out of tired desperation for understanding.

" We need Aurora" Rhenora admitted, always a little cautious when it came to speaking about thoughts, feelings and dreams.

He sighed again, then leaned over and planted a kiss on her perfect lips, "We do indeed."

"I'll talk to her in the morning" she yawned, wishing her brain would let her sleep. With Remal's dreams now adding to her unease she felt sleep would be elusive.

It was practically already morning somewhere in the verse. Knowing sleep wasn't going to happen even with a good snuggle, as they each had too much on their minds, Remal threw back the covers and stood up, "Alright runt, I'll make the coffee, you're on breakfast duty."

"Now there's a proposition that I could get used to" Kaylen smirked, knowing deep down he was right and sleep was most likely going to elude then both. May as well get up and be done with it. She headed into their kitchenette and pulled out a few things, preparing the ingredients for what she hoped would be a tasty omelette. Cooking was definitely not her forte but she was getting better.

Remal watched her work as he grinded some beans. None of that instant stuff today. Dreams and visions like they shared called for something fresh and strong. "Maybe after breakfast we could take a walk, see some of the ship. What do you say?"

Rhenora checked the nearby chronometre, always just a tad in Captain mode. It was just before 5am - plenty of time to have a stroll before she was due to report for duty. Not to mention they were still technically on shore leave, however the recent telepathic attacks and the preparation for Savar’s inquiry meant that she would be doing more working than relaxing.

"Oh sorry a walk, yes that would be lovely" her mind caught up with her ears. She blushed a little at her laxness.

He noticed but chose not to comment knowing she had a lot going on in her mind as well as he did. He carried on grinding, ever so often stopping long enough to add the right spices that gave this brew a kick. He kept glancing in her direction, watching as she cooked in their shared kitchette. She knew how to cook but as a Starfleet Captain she rarely had time to practice the craft.

"So, anything interesting to see while we're out and about?"

"Depends what you call interesting. The arboretum is in fine flower at the moment I'm told" she tossed the vegetables into a skillet to fry them off before adding the egg mixture to another pan. She caught a whiff of Remal's latest blend in progress."I think you should call that blend 0430"

"Not a bad idea, the name and the flower walk. Wait until you taste this though. I'm using some spicy herbs I picked up in the Vulcan market and I'm not quite sure how spicy they will turn out to be." It felt nice just to be real, together, and not thinking about what the Wormhole Aliens were planning for their lives.

"Spicy, well it should definitely awaken the taste buds as well as the mind" she smiled. As Remal worked, she put the finishing touches to their breakfast and turned out the meals onto two large plates.

"Breakfast is served" she said with an elaborate bow, placing them on the small table.

Together they sat, Remal's lips and tongue already salivating at the smell. "Looks good, smells even better." He didn't hesitate to dig in, savoring every morsel and moment with this beauty before him. As he chewed and watched her eat another question about the vision entered his mind. Why was he subject to a vision and the after dream? Why not Rhen, unless she too had a dream and hadn't said anything yet.

"So, did I actually get a chance to describe my dream to you?"

"Only briefly" she took a bite of the omlette, definitely one of her better efforts it seemed. "Care to share?" She took a sip of the coffee. It had the kick of rocket fuel with a much more pleasant taste.

He took a sip of his coffee, his eyes lighting up almost immediately, then he refocused on her. “I’ll tell you mine, if you tell me yours? If you had one that is.” He was fishing, he knew, but fishing for more depth is something he was all too familiar.
