Mission:
The Jungle
Location: Jungle
Savar reached the top of the mountain and peered at the figures. "Captain, I believe that is Remal and Dr. Wilson we are looking at."
"Remal?" Rhenora's voice was hopefully despite her waning strength. The sweat that beaded from her brow was no longer from the jungle alone.
"Yes Captain. I am sure of it and Dr. Wilson is with him. They must have been selected and placed into the game after we were." Savar answered his CO.
"That's a blessing" Rhenora channelled her strength into holding on to Savar as he continued to climb.
"I agree." Savar answered as they drew closer to the pair. Even as they did, he wondered would they meet anymore of the Liberty crew.
The cliff seemed to stretch on forever, they hadn't made contact with the other Liberty crewmembers. Her energy was waning with the increasing heat.
As they got closer with each step, Savar could definitely see that it was the Captain's husband and the Liberty's ACMO. Now, the Captain would get the medical help she needed.
Rhenora's grip slipped, threatening to pull Savar off balance. Her legs gripped automatically preventing her fall.
Savar's arms were up in a flash, his hand grabbing at hers, catching them in an iron grip. "I have you Captain." He said as if he was reading the daily news off a PaDD.
"Thanks" she managed to get out as the team continued to climb. Every movement was deliberate on the cliff wall, everyone working to get to a common goal. Remal and Sarah looked on, unable to assist from their position. Even as it were the voices could barely be heard. Sarah could see Savar carrying someone but was unable to discern who it was at this stage. It could have been any blonde member of the crew.
"You are welcome Captain. We will soon meet up with the others, be patient." Savar replied.
"Got it" Rhenora replied through gritted teeth, her entire bring focused on staying on Savar's back. It was becoming increasingly difficult as time progresses and the heat of the day amplified. If she fell, it would be to her death off the cliff. Perhaps that was preferable to dying slowly from infection. 'Not an option' she said to herself and made it her mission to stay with Savar. She could see Lt House working with some strong vines and securing them to make their climb easier.
Dean finally got all that he was trying to find to make that rope for all of them, and thought they all were still resting. Coming back with it all. Looking around, "Guys?" Looking around. "Guys?" Glancing up, "Oh come on..you all went ahead without me?" Looks down and groans.
Up ahead Aurora was feeling worse for wear herself, not so much from her arm but from her side where she’d caught it on the rocky outcrop. She sighed and shook her head as she placed her hand on it and found blood, not having the time to stop on such a precarious spot she quickly padded it with a small piece of spare bandage she’d saved when she took care of Rhenora’s leg. Hopefully they’d be getting out of the jungle soon.
