Mission: Welcome Aboard!
Location: Captain's Quarters

Captain Kaylen Rhenora walked through the pristine corridors of the USS Liberty, taking in the ship that would be her home for the next portion of her career. The crew were still boarding and would be for another day or so having travelled from every quarter of the quadrant. At this point in time the ship had no firm orders, only for the crew to board and prepare for their first mission. A relatively easy task to complete all things considered.

Deck 2 , second corridor on the right, 1st door on the left was the Captain's Quarters, a relatively comfortable space that was to become her sanctuary. Pressing the door chime the doors parted to reveal her duffle placed carefully inside the door, with a small container of personal affects next to it. The rooms were simple but efficient. A living area with a workstation, a bedroom and a small bathroom. It was all she needed.

As she entered a message was activated on her workstation.

"Captain Kaylen - you have one message awaiting your attention"

With a sigh Rhenora headed over and slipped into the high backed chair, activating the terminal with her finger. The Starfleet emblem flashed breifly before being replaced with Admiral Winston.

" Captain, I hope the Liberty is up to your Standards - your orders are to conduct a shakedown cruise for two weeks - iron out the wrinkles and flush out the mice. There's tensions building with several of our adversaries and we need you to be ready."

Rhenora signed her acceptance of the shakedown cruise and advised they would push off within 48 hours. That would give the remainder of the crew time to board and hopefully prepare.

She sent a message to all stations advising of their new orders, and decided organising her quarters could wait until the morning. She was bone tired and the bed looked comfy. Time to catch some sleep.
