The last person Aurora had expected to see here was Savar, now she’d taken over his position as Chief of Counselling and she couldn’t help but feel guilty. Stopping by his quarters to return his things from her office she pressed the chime and waited for an answer.
After several seconds the door slid open and Savar stood there. "Lieutenant Vali. This is unexpected. Is there something I can assist you with?"
Aurora offered a smile. “Forgive me for dropping by but I was hoping we could talk?”
"There is nothing to forgive Lieutenant." Savar replied as he stepped aside, "Please come into my quarters."
Aurora stepped inside and waited for the doors to close she placed down the box of items before suddenly stepping up to Savar, wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him passionately letting it linger for as long as she could.
Savar stiffened at Aurora's action but only briefly as he soon relaxed and returned the kiss. When the kiss finally broke, Savar spoke, "Most satisfyingly Aurora. You are still a most passionate kisser."
Aurora smiled. “I’m sorry I couldn’t resist! It’s been so long Savar, I’ve missed you.” She looked into his eyes before she took his hand and guided him towards his bedroom. “I don’t want to waste one more minute ...”
"I am not complaining though I wonder at your timing Aurora. Is this attempt to make up for taking my position as Chief Counselor?
Aurora shook her head as the bedroom door opened. “No, it’s a longing to be with you, a long held regret that I never took the chance to be bonded to you.” Reaching the bed she pulled him close as the doors swished closed behind them.
~ Sometime later ~
Aurora lay cuddled up in Savar’s arms, enjoying the feeling of their bodies being intertwined together. “This wasn’t too rushed was it?” She ran her fingers over his chest. “I love you Savar, I always have.”
"Rushed? There was nothing rushed about our.... oh you are referring to you seizing the opportunity. No, you have been on the ship how long now?" He joked softly. he grew quiet as Aurora professed her love for him. Then finally he spoke. "I love you too Aurora. Since the moment we met."
Aurora raised her head and smiled warmly, “We are both due our Pon’farr soon Savar, I wasn’t ready back at the Academy to become a bond mate and wife but I’m ready now.” She paused. “When our time comes I want to bond with you, to forever become yours.”
"I would like that as well Aurora." Savar answered, his arms still around her as he looked into her eyes. There is no one I would rather have as my life mate than you."
Aurora smiled the biggest smile yet, she wasn’t your usual Vulcan in that she freely displayed her emotions. “I’m sure my parents will be pleased that you and I have finally decided to bond. My father was very disapproving when I didn’t life bond you with before, although my mother was more understanding.”
"My parents will be pleased as well in that we have arrived at what they wanted so long ago." Savar answered in typical dry Vulcan fashion.
Aurora lay her head back on Savar’s shoulder enjoying their feeling of closeness. “Should we speak to the Captain regarding our plans? She will need to know that Pon’farr will soon be upon us, we have to return to Vulcan for our bonding to take place. You know me I’m not an a-typical Vulcan but the rituals of our people must be observed or our bond will not be seen as true in the eyes of the Vulcan people.”
"The Captain should be told both of our plans and of Pon'farr. I have no desire to keep anything from her She is to be fully informed."
Aurora nodded. “I agree, I think we should arrange to speak with her tomorrow morning. In the meantime the only place I plan to be is here with you.” She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. “I want to meld with you, to make our initial promise to each other. For you to truly feel what I feel for you.”
"Agreed." He answered and continued, "A meld would be most beneficial as it would make both of us aware of each other's inner thoughts and help to understand each other better." He replied.
Aurora nodded and sat up so she could face Savar. “Then do it. You’re more practiced than I am, I’m not afraid.” She had used the mind meld technique before but had never been subjected to a meld as deep as this one would be, although it would be nothing compared to the bond required to satisfy the Pon’farr.
"Would you rather not wait until the morning when your mind is refreshed Aurora? He asked.
Aurora paused. “I’m sorry you’re probably right, I’m just ... over eager after all our years apart.” She gave him an apologetic smile. “Forgive me?”
"There is nothing to forgive Aurora. In the morning we will meld and start the new day together." Savar promised as he caressed her cheek.
Aurora nodded and smiled as she enjoyed Savar’s touch, it had been a long lonely few years without him in her life. She lay back down on the bed looking up into his eyes. “I have missed you so much Imzadi. I know now this is where I belong.”
Savar nodded, his eyes on hers, "Our parting was most painful in many ways Aurora. Though we were not bonded, I felt connected to you. Your presence in my life was both agreeable and pleasant. I have missed it."
She gently reached out and caressed his cheek. "Well I'm here now and you won't have to miss it anymore."
He closed his eyes and melted into her touch.
