[USS Liberty]
[Bridge]

Captain Rhenora Kaylen had finally given the word for the Liberty to get under way. Tyroh Vantic was stationed at the Security/Tactical station to the right of the Captain but, really, he was only here as a formality. There were usually pre-flight duties and system checks that were required from all essential bridge stations before any ship got going but, once they were completed, if there was nothing pressing, one could excuse themselves.

Seeing as this was to be a shakedown cruise, Tyroh knew there wouldn't be much for him to do here, in the moment, as they made their way to the Conara System at low warp. The Angosian officer took the opportunity to excuse himself for other duties.

"Captain," he addressed his commander in a low voice. "If you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with my staff to attend."

"Go ahead, Commander," Kaylen stated, turning her attention back to the PADD before her. "We'll call you when we need you."

Making sure his console showed green on all security and tactical readouts, Tyroh messaged one of his tactical officers to the bridge to take his place. He then logged off and made for the turbolift.

[Security and Tactical Offices]

The Chief's office wasn't small, but it wasn't big either. It was sizeable enough to hold about 10 people comfortably. There currently weren't 10 people, though, just a small number of Tyroh's staff that were necessary for delegating tasks to the rest of the tactical and security team members. The burly Angosian currently didn't have an assistant chief of security and tactical, which is why those duties were being split among the four officers he was addressing at the moment.

"So, in summary," Tyroh quickly went through his notes, starting to wrap up the meeting, "Assignments are as follows. Webber will run security drills today and tomorrow. T'Varik will coordinate security equipment and weapons checks today and tomorrow. Thogm will run tactical drills for the next two days and Yemane will coordinate the full diagnostics of the Liberty's tactical systems. Am I missing anything?"

All the Ensigns stated that he hadn't, eager to get on with their tasks.

"Very well," Tyroh, who'd been leaning against his desk, now stood to his full height. The officers before him followed suit. "I'll want your full reports by end of day tomorrow. Dismissed."

Tyroh knew he'd need to compile all their data, analyze them and make adjustments based on performances when the time came, all before he needed to make a department head report to the Captain. The officers started to leave the room, though Ensign Webber was hanging back.

"Sir," he began, holding up his PADD. "I had a chance to talk to people at The Bar on Starbase 234 before the Liberty left. Everything seems to line up with Lieutenant Bok Trell's statement. There was a wager on the dom jot game they were playing. There was a little taunting and drinking, as is wont to happen in those kinds of establishments, and a 'disagreement' on how the game ended by the Tellarite involved."

Webber smirked at the thought, recalling the conversations he'd had with the patrons and administrators of The Bar at 234. "In the end, it was the Tellarite that actually initiated the physical altercation that caused Lieutenant Bok Trell's injuries. In my opinion, just another typical bar fight. Here's my full report."

Ensign Webber held out his PADD and Tyroh held out his own, the two devices almost touching. Webber flicked a finger on his screen and Tyroh's PADD tinged a notification that he'd received the file in question.

"Thank you, Ensign," Tyroh stated, walking around his desk and taking a seat in his chair. He'd need to review and compile this information for the Captain as well. "I'll be in touch with Lieutenant Trell for the final follow up. That will be all."

Webber nodded and left the room. Tyroh started going over Webber's report on Lieutenant Bok Trell. He didn't know any of the new Liberty staff and would have to try and rectify that at some point. Reports like these were never helpful, they don't get to the heart of who someone truly is, but it does provide a little insight.

Regardless, before Tyroh started in on everything before him, he sent off a private message to Lieutenant Bok Trell asking to see him at his earliest convenience.

Feel like doing a joint post, Lieutenant? :)
