Mission: Healing of Minds
Location: Anna's Cabin

Instead of leading Jessica back to sickbay, she took her home to her cabin. The room had been decorated a little, but mostly just had lots of flowers and shrubs and other greenery covering every wall and shelf. It felt like a little jungle, though the bright lights the plants needed to grow were switched off as soon as Anna walked in. But it was a lot warmer than in the rest of the ship, a climate anyone going on holiday on Risa would be familiar with. "Please, do come in", Anna said.

Jessica, entered Anna's quarters and looked at the variable jungle. "Wow! Anna! This is amazing. I love this. How long did it take you to get it like this?"

"A few days", Anna admitted. "I planned it out on my trip here. Nothing much else to do on a liner." She moved to the replicator and replicated hot water, with which she made the tea. "Most of these plants are from Risa."

"They are beautiful Anna! You certainly have a green thumb... and foot, leg, arm....." Jessica teased. "This is quite beautiful, nice and homey feeling."

Anna giggled. "And I'm sure you don't yell 'I'm spotted' when you've been made while trying to hide, right?" she teased right back.

"I most certainly do not." Jessica agreed, a smile on her face.

"Pity, actually", Anna remarked. "You might get some opponents to reveal their position through laughter." Anna was pretty certain she wouldn't be able to resist the temptation under those circumstances. "So, are you ticklish?"

"Are you Doctor?" Jessica countered with a smile.

"Yes, I'm... wait a second, we're talking about me poking you for the purpose of the lecture, right?" Anna asked.

"No. You were talking about you poking me." Jessica answered. "So you're ticklish. Very interesting." She mused.

Anna put down the tea pot and poured two cups. These mugs and pot looked a bit more ordinary than the ones she was using in sickbay, their designs were floral in nature, to match their surroundings. Then, when she had everything set down, she poked Jessica in the side gently. "I understand those spots are fairly sensitive, aren't they?"

Jessica smirked at her, "Are you asking as a doctor or are you just curious and yes they are." As she wiggled under Anna's poke.

"Oh, this is just curiosity", Anna said, picking up a mug and handing it to Jessica. "And I'm a duck, not a cat, so I'm not worried about the inherent dangers of curiosity either."

"Thank you." Jessica replied taking the cup. "That may well be but if I'm not mistaken, satisfaction brought the cat back. However you are a duck, so I guess you just have to wing it."

"Yes, I was afraid it would come to that", Anna nodded, picking up the other mug. "This is green tea from Earth. There's never enough green, right?"

Jessica sipped the tea, "It's very good. Never enough green or spots for that matter." She winked at Anna.

"Do you know why it is Trill evolved to have them?" Anna wondered. She figured this was something Trill would be taught in schools, but whether an adopted Trill knew, or ever cared to research it? The question hadn't ever occurred to Anna before either.

"I'm sorry to say I don't Anna. I just took them for granted as being part of my genetic makeup. Though I suppose it can't hurt to learn their significance, if any." Jessica mused.

"It's probably sexual selection", Anna said. "It's why Orion men have these stupid mountains of muscle, too. Anyone who could maintain that muscle mass, in the olden days of having to work for food, was supposedly a good mate."

"Maybe that makes sense." Jessica admitted. "Do you find my spots sexy doctor?" She giggled.

"Is that a trick question?" Anna asked. "Of course I do. Who wouldn't?"

"Not trick, sincere." Jessica clarified. "I'm sure there are some people who find them disgusting."

"This is why we have counsellors, I guess", Anna smiled, taking a sip from her tea.

"And doctors who are understanding and caring." Jessica added."

"Sadly, I can't do anything for disorders of the mind", Anna said. "Believe me, I've tried."

"In the short time I've known you, I can tell you are a caring and considerate doctor and person." Jessica replied.

"And here I thought you'd think I'm just quackers", Anna smirked. "But maybe it takes one to know one, and you're certainly not shy with your puns."

"Nah, you aren't quackers, cheesy maybe, definitely green around the gills but not quackers." Jessica replied sipping her tea.

Anna laughed. "I should make a mallard costume. But I'd have to cross-dress for it. The males are the ones with green in their plumage."

"You can make me one of those Earth creatures with spots, the leotards." Jessica answered. "That would be cool."

"A leopard leotard!" Anna beamed. "Why did I never think of that?" She looked Jessica over. "Let me take your measurements. Nice and tight?"

"Yes! A leopard." She giggled. "Not too tight Anna, I do have to breathe." Jessica joked.

"Oh, it wouldn't go over your mouth, and it'd be thin fabric", Anna smiled. She put her medkit down onto the table and opened it, taking out her tricorder. "Let me get a quick scan..."

"I should hope not!" Jessica huffed then continued, "Okay, take your scan."

Anna quickly ran the sensor over Jessica's body. "Mhm, looks like this will be bulging out in all the right places. Nice muscle definition you've got going for you."

"Why thank you Doctor. I do try to keep in shape and may I say you've got some good definition going as well." Jessica replied casting an appraising eye at Anna.

Anna smiled. "Thank you, dear." She walked to the replicator and programmed in the parameters. A moment later, she came back with a tiny costume, which would stretch out as Jessica would step into it. "You'll be the first leopard able to change its spots", she claimed.

"Oohhhhhhh! Pretty!" Jessica squealed as she took the costume from Anna. "I love it Anna. Thank you so much."

"Try it on?" Anna asked. "I mean, I'd love to see if it fits."

"I thought you would never ask. Can I put it on over my uniform?" Jessica asked.

"Uh, no?" Anna said. "I mean, you could, but it wouldn't fit or look right. It's designed to go directly on your skin."

"Oh you naughty Doctor." Jessica giggled, "Where can I change to give you the proper look?"

"Anywhere you like", Anna said. "I'm not picky."

"Maybe you aren't but I want to surprise you. Where's the bathroom?" Jessica asked.

Anna pointed at the door to the left. "Don't be scared, those ducks in there are only rubber."

"Pffft. Not scared of any duck. Be back in a minute." Jessica exclaimed as she dashed off to the bathroom. A few minutes she peaked around the corner. "Ready for the unveiling?"

"Yes, as ready as I'll ever be." She had put her mug back on the table, just so she wouldn't drop it.

Jessica, stuck one leotard covered leg out, did a little shimmy and then came out with her hands on her hips. "What do you think of your handiwork Anna?"

"Wow", Anna said. "I love it. Please, do come into the light. This looks great on you!"

Jessica did as Anna asked. "I think it's beautiful! You did a great job Anna, now you need to make yourself, the duck costume you mentioned earlier."

"I won't look nearly as lithe and elegant in it as you do", Anna said. "Plus, it'll need a little more work than putting a pattern on a leotard. But I promise, I'll put one together."

"Ohhhh, thank you but I know you'll look fantastic!" Jessica replied before wagging a finger at Anna. "You better not take too long, making that costume." She giggled.

"Tomorrow, day after tomorrow tops", Anna promised. She walked around Jessica to look at her from all angles. "Mhm, nice butt", she remarked.

"Is that a professional opinion, Doctor?" Jessica asked, her eyes dancing with mischief.

"I think they might take me off active duty if I were to cite your behind as a textbook example", Anna laughed. "Though, since it would require a lot of detailed study, that might be worth it."

Jessica shook her behind. "Oh I bet. Lots of detailed study to be sure. Strenuous study to be sure." She laughed.

Anna giggled and smacked Jessica on her butt. "Are you sure you didn't spend a few years on Risa, dear?"

Jessica smiled and shook her head even as she jumped at Anna's swat. "I'm allowed some secrets Anna."

"True, even if that means my curiosity will remain unsatisfied, I cannot deny you the right", Anna admitted.

"Perhaps someday you will learn all about me but for now, secrets." Jessica teased.

"Alluring", Anna admitted. "I'm almost ashamed I'm so much of an open book. I have not inherited the guile of my mother's line."

"An open book. Perhaps green with envy at my nice butt." Jessica laughed. "Don't change Anna. Stay as you are." She told her new friend.

"There's never enough green", Anna maintained. "Now, let me work on my duck costume, and I shall invite you to join me for dinner once it is done. Come in this?"

"What to the mess hall?" Jessica questioned.

"No, here", Anna said. "I'm going to cook. Well, mostly replicated ingredients, but through cooking, the taste won't just be standard."

"Okay." Jessica said, nodding her head excitedly. "That will be fun, the leopard and the duck. Shall I be prepared to stalk you?"

"After dinner, or I might just be a little scared", Anna said. "Cats like to play with their catch, right?"

"Absolutely." Jessica confirmed with a grin.

"I can't wait. Tomorrow night, 1800?" Anna suggested. It would give her enough time to make a costume and dinner after her shift. "Oh, and what foods do you like?"

"Roasted duck." Jessica replied straight faced.

Anna laughed. "I can do that. You'll love it."
