Mission: Welcome Aboard!
Location: Engineering

Captain Kaylen Rhenora flattened herself against the wall panel, the voices were definitely Orion, and they stood between her and her target. Two more Orions had just been despatched by the newly arrived Infiltrations specialist, much to the Captain's relief.

"Welcome aboard" she whispered as the new officer joined them. The Orions seemed to be guarding the emergency command terminal. They knew the command team would be coming.
“ As for the Orions...sadly we are rather aware”

Savar looked at the new officer and simply nodded. His attention was at the Orions guarding the emergency command terminal and would they move away once the other crew members started their ‘scuffle.’

There was a commotion on the upper gantry as planned, the two Orions looked but didn't move.

“I don’t suppose,” Vitari softly demurred to her new CO’s while she cast her gaze around the room, “You happened to have a plan? I’m not entirely sure what I’ve missed but you two are the first Starfleet I’ve run into so far, I was hoping to liberate engineering and hopefully hold a bit of a perimeter.”

Savar was slightly insulted by the newcomer. “We do in fact have a plan. We are going to liberate the emergency command terminal from the Orions.”

Nodding, Vitari glanced at the small group, “Sounds like a plan to me,” she acknowledged with a small smile.

The bait wasn't taken, but the distraction would have to be enough. Rhenora moved closer before launching.

“Captain, I should be the one to go first. You can cover me and if something should happen to me then you can try for the emergency command terminal.” Savar protested.

Kaylen bristled, she hated being held back because of her age and her rank. In her mind she was still in her early 20s.

"We go as a team" she settled on..

Savar nodded, “As you wish Captain.” He answered diplomatically.

She had a weapon they had thrifted from the two Orions upstairs, however its use was somewhat foreign. There was a large controller on the top she assumed was the firing mechanism. Hoping she the best she jumped out from their hiding place, brandishing the weapon and hoping to catch them off guard.

Savar jumped with Kaylen. His weapon up and firing at the Orions, scattering and more importantly moving them away from the command terminal.

The scuffle was brief but violent, the Captain using her many years of hand to hand combat to subdue the closest opponent whilst Savar dealt with the second. The result was a winded Captain, a serene as always Vulcan and two unconscious Orions. Most importantly the terminal was now unguarded.

Vitari had barely begun to mouth a suggestion as the duo darted forward. The sleekly clad officer blinked with a slight tilt of her head while she watched the pair a moment, before determining her newfound courageous Captain to be the more likely of the pair in need of assistance when she heard the soft hiss of a door opening; it seemed that the small scuffle had alerted one of the patrols outside after all. Not quite as intended, perhaps, she mused as she briefly considered her options... lethal would be cleaner and faster but possibly not necessary; so far the invaders hadn’t resorted to lethal force that she had observed and it may not be in their best interests to be the first to draw that particular straw.

The intruders it seemed, were currently more entertained by the apparently infighting crewmen, and while they had readied their weapons, at least so far they were more interested in, from what she could grasp of their jeers, betting on a winner, quite confident in their armed and superior position above.

Steeling herself, the specialist checked the magazine of her side arm, lamenting silently the rapidly diminishing clip before darting from her position towards the central core, circling the inner consoles as a pretense of concealment while the soft colours of her suit did its best to match. Of course it wouldn’t make much difference at the speed of her dash, but she was relying almost entirely on the Orion’s preoccupation to keep her unnoticed.

The softened soles of her personal suit made the barest whisper even as she put all of her energy into speed around the room, launching herself up the opposing ladder to the next level in a single bound about half way and a spider like scurry along the rest, pivoting through the small portal above as she drew aim, the softest of clicks echoing in her ears as two soft clicks announced the close of the breach, her packages delivered within moments of each other to the unassuming patrol before the potent tranquiliser saturated their systems, the tiny darts at the base of each neck releasing their payload as the two slumped unceremoniously to the floor.

Vitari took a moment to assure herself that her quarry were, infact, down before she stepped to the door and checked the corridor before softly calling, ‘Clear,’ to the officers across the room.

"Who needs a plan" the Bajoran grunted, wincing as her ribs pulled where a kick from the Orion had landed. It was most likely bruised, but there was no time to waste. The command terminal was for the moment theirs.
“Seems like it went perfectly to plan,” Vitari cherped as she bound the two assailants at her feet, “At least, that is what I plan to tell anyone who asks,” she added with an innocent grin.

“ I like the way you think” Rhenora replied with a smile. She logged into the emergency command terminal and ran a quick systems status check. It seemed the Warp Core was still offline, as were the navigational systems. Weapons were offline, but otherwise all systems were functioning within normal parametres. With a small number of deft taps the Captain returned control of the ship to Starfleet, however the roving Orions would still need to be dealt with - as would the hijacked engines. She used the internal scanners to ascertain the location and number of their enemy. 6 Orions were left unsecured. Surely they would be able to round them up. Two had a large number of crew detained in one of the cargo bays, two were on the bridge, and the leader and his cohort appeared to be on their way to Engineering.

“Captain. As two of the Orions are headed here. I recommend we remove them from the equation and then go after the remaining four.”

“ What we really need to do is get the engines and weapons back up so we can disable the Orion ship - then beam these buggers back over there and tow them back into Starbase.” Rhenora grumbled, looking at the two prisoners at Viatri’s feet. “ But you’re right, we still have a few of them to ‘handle’ “

“Best to have all our bad apples together Captain. Then we can disable their ship and beam them over to it.” Savar replied in an even tone.

“ You’re right about that” Kaylen admitted, trying a few quick changes to the warp core to try and override whatever it was the Orions did to remotely shut it down. She wished for the ships Computer Specialist who was still en route. There was definitely a weakness, known outside Starfleet that had been exploited.

Just as she tweaked the engines back to life the doors opened, revealing the Orion Leader and his 2IC. They did not seem happy.
