After their last round of love making and subsequent rest. Savar had gotten up and gone into the study to meditate. He was concerned at how close he had come to losing control with Aurora and actually hurting her. This was totally unacceptable.

Aurora stirred from her sleep to find Savar gone, moving she groaned feeling like she’d been run over by a Starship rather than being passionately made love to by Savar. Her wrists were sore and red so she put on a dressing gown and covered them over not wanting him to see them, before walking out of the bedroom to find him.

Savar was in the mist of meditating, trying to address his almost losing control. He could not let that happen. Not just with Aurora but with the crew of the Liberty.

“Savar?” Aurora walked over to her husband, kneeling in-front of him. She could feel a disturbance in his usual calm demeanour “Are you alright?”

His eyes opened slowly and fixed on her. "No, I am not alright Aurora. I came dangerously close to losing control and that is unacceptable/ You could have been hurt. I cannot have that."

“I’m sorry” Aurora’s smile faded. “It was my fault, I pushed you into going past your limits, I shouldn’t have done that. Forgive me!”

There is nothing to forgive Aurora. You did nothing wrong. I am not a child. I agreed to this willingly. Now I must deal with the ramifications."

“What can I do to help?” She made herself comfortable, sitting on the floor in-front of him instead of kneeling.

"I must reset my mental barriers Aurora. I cannot allow for a chance of me losing control with you or anyone else." Savar stated calmly.

“Then I’ll help you, I’m your wife and we are one. Meld with me, I’ll help keep you stable while you meditate and reset your control.”

"I cannot do that Aurora. The danger to you is too great if I should slip and lose control while resetting control." Savar answered.

“It’s a risk I’m willing to take” Aurora took Savar’s hand. “I’m your wife, I’m a part of you. You need me, now let me be there for you.”

"Then let us mind join together." Savar intoned formally.

Aurora nodded. “Do not worry, I will be fine.” She guided his fingers to her face and braced herself for a mind meld.

"My mind to your mind, my thoughts to yours." Savar intoned as the meld was made and completed. He saw Aurora's happiness and joy at their coupling as her satisfaction with their 'experiment'. he saw how he looked and was appalled. His appearance was almost feral as he made love to Aurora. That would not do. He had been dangerously close to the edge and losing control. He could not chance that happening.

Aurora could feel Savar’s concerns at how close he got to truly losing control. She hadn’t realised how much damage she could truly have done. << I’m sorry ashayam I didn’t realise how far I pushed you >>

<< Aurora, the fault is not yours but mine. My mental control was already weakened due to the Pon'farr. Our 'experiment' further weakened my control. This must be corrected.>> Savar answered telepathically.

<< Just tell me what I need to do >>

<< You just need to monitor my efforts as I work to reset my control to what it should be.>>

Aurora nodded. << I will ashayam >>

<< Excellent.>> Savar answered and then began the slow and meticulous process of resetting his mental control.

Aurora remained silent, sitting cross legged on the floor in her dressing gown with her eyes closed she simply kept watch over Savar as he fortified his mental control.

Savar worked slowly, he was unaware of how much time had passed as he reset his mental barriers but he finally opened his eyes, << It is finished.>> he announced to Aurora.

Aurora had been slowly weakening over the last several hours, << I’m ... glad >> Their connection dropped away as she practically flopped onto the floor where she sat to lie down and rest.

Savar rose and bent down to pick Aurora up. Once he had her cradled in his arms, he took her to the bedroom and laid her gently on the bed. He kissed her softly and whispered. "You are a most remarkable woman Aurora."

“I most ... certainly am not!” Aurora smiled. “Are you ... alright now?”

"You do yourself a disservice Aurora and in answer to your question, yes my emotional control has been restored." Savar replied.

“That’s good” Aurora smiled. “You were working for hours, I wasn’t sure how long I’d be able to hold on.”

"I reset my control. It was far more time consuming than I thought." Savar admitted.

“Well you’re okay now that’s what matters.” Aurora smiled. “Next time we’ll just have be more cautious.” She gave him a playful smile.
