{ON}

Aurora had enjoyed her time on Vulcan with Savar, now they were back onboard ship she was strolling along daydreaming about the fun they’d had together, so much so she’d been left with bruised wrists. It was her own fault for not telling Savar her bindings were too tight on her wrists.

She was so lost in her daydreams that she didn’t see Anna until she practically fell over her. “Anna! I’m so sorry!” She brushed herself off and offered Anna a hand up her sleeves revealing her wrists as she did so.

Anna had landed on her four letters with an oomph, shaking her head to collect herself and looking up at Aurora. "At least tell me you want to go sparring with me before you tackle me to the ground", she joked. She took Aurora's hand to help pull herself up. "Oh, what happened here?" she asked.

“Ohh that’s err ...” Aurora covered her wrists. “That’s nothing, just something I did on Vulcan.” She offered a smile. “I was lost in my memories.”

"What did you do?" Anna asked. "And would you like me to take a look at it, make sure there's no permanent damage?"

Aurora shook her head, it was embarrassing enough without having to explain. Even Savar hadn’t seen her wrists. “Maybe later.”

"Hm, okay", Anna shrugged. "I was about to go grab a bite to eat, would you like to join me?" Maybe she could get her into revealing a bit more over lunch?

“Sure” Aurora smiled. “It’s the least I can do after knocking you over.”

"Well, I didn't break anything, so it's not so bad", Anna said. "I hate breaking bones. It's such a pain setting them in time."

Aurora grinned at the comment.

Anna led the way towards the mess hall. "So what have you been doing down on Vulcan?" she asked.

“I’ve been enjoying our home, learning more about what it is to be a wife and generally having a relaxing time.” Aurora smiled.

Meanwhile Captain Kaylen Rhenora was in the mess hall, head buried in a report that was some days overdue whilst a forgotten plate of food lay untouched before her.

Walking in, Anna got an array of fruits and sweets from the replicator. She usually craved something sweet for lunch, to keep her high level of activity sustained through the day. "Well, look who's here. The captain's guarding a plate of food, it seems."

Aurora chose herself a salad selection with a cake for dessert, she deserved the treat. She smiled at Rhenora. “Do you mind if we join you Captain?”

The voice startled her, causing her to jump a little after having been so engrossed in what she was reading.
"Who what?" She looked around and saw Anna and Aurora standing next to her. When had they arrived?
"Oh sure, sorry I was reading"

“I’m sorry!” Aurora offered an apologetic smile. “First I knock over Anna and now I’m scaring you. Could this day get any weirder!” She took a seat and politely started eating her salad.

"Trust me - the day can ALWAYS get weirder. Too many years in space taught me that." The Captain laughed as she indicated the chairs beside her. "Please, sit down."

Anna slipped into the seat next to the skipper, popping a piece of fruit into her mouth before asking, "So is this a ritual? You order lunch, then you read while you wait for it to get cold?"

The Captain looked bewildered for a moment before remembering the plate she had indeed ordered some time ago.
"Oh that's right.. it's food time, isn't it!"

"Heh, if only my body needed reminding, I wouldn't need to stay active as much", Anna joked. Yes, she had a fairly slim physique, but that was only thanks to her metabolism, which came with her Minaran half.

"Mine just forgets, completely" Rhenora admitted. "Refer exhibit A" The plate of food was mostly cold - which didn't bother her much at all really.

"I prescribe eating in company", Anna smiled. "It's been proven humanoids eat more when they're eating together." It certainly didn't mess with her own appetite, as tasty morsels were quickly disappearing between her teeth.

"Really? Are you messing with me or is that actually a fact?" Rhenora raised her eyebrows and pulled the plate closer. She hadn't realised she was actually hungry.

"That's the honest truth", Anna said.

"Well then, eat up, assuming that's why you've come to the Mess Hall in the first place. I'm assuming it wasn't to make sure I was eating my lunch" The Captain smiled at the pair.

"Also to hear the narrative of what wrist-damaging activities one can get up to on Vulcan", Anna said, looking at Aurora.

"What goes on on Vulcan stays on Vulcan" Rhenora recalled her own wedding night and blushed at the events that occured afterwards.

Aurora blushed too. “It’s nothing ... really! Savar would never hurt me!” She paused hoping that didn’t sound like she was trying to hide something.

Anna smirked. Now she understood what had happened. "Oh, I see. I'm glad you've had fun. Feel free to come see me with any bruises, and I'll take care of them, no problem." She gave Aurora a wide grin.

Savar saw Aurora, Anna and the Captain, sitting talking together. It would be impolite to ignore them so he walked to where they were seated. "Captain, Doctor, Aurora." He greeted politely though his expression and tone were more glacial than ever.

Aurora smiled as she looked towards her husband before she gave him a guilty look. “We were err just talking about these ...” She uncovered her wrists covered in bruises from their extra curricular activities.

"Looks like you've had a fun stay on Vulcan. See what happens when I prescribe rest and relaxation?" Anna grinned.

"You end up patching up the aftermath" Rhenora snorted, finally eating some of her lunch. "Perhaps a wedding gift of a dermal regenerator would be appropriate, what do you think?"

"No, I wouldn't give medical instruments to untrained personnel", Anna shook her head. "But I totally don't mind dealing with the small injuries, so no worries."

"Remind me not to show you the stash in my quarters...old habits and all that" Rhenora munched on her lunch and raised an eyebrow at the new CMO.

Savar expression was positively frosty at the Captain and the CMO's bantering. He resisted any comment.

Aurora hung her head feeling guilty for not having had something done about her bruises. “I should be going” she stood and looked to Savar. “Walk with me?”

Savar made no comment he simply nodded before addressing the Captain and CMO with a simple "Captain, Doctor." he then fell into step beside Aurora.

"Hmm, I have to remember that some people are embarrassed about their sexual practices", Anna said quietly.

Walking out of the lounge Aurora looked at Savar. “I’m sorry, I should have told you about these stupid bruises! Now I’ve embarrassed you in-front of the Doctor and the Captain.”

Savar didn't reply right away. "Yes. You should have Aurora. but not because any embarrassment to me but because of any injury to you. I will have to deal with The Doctor and Captain's looks and smirks. It is not fatal."

“But this was my fault, I didn’t tell you the ropes were too tight I was enjoying our time too much!” She smiled. “I will go to Sickbay and have these bruises taken care of though. To spare any further looks,” she smiled warmly.

"I think that is a most excellent idea Aurora." Savar replied simply.

“I think next time we’ll use silk ties instead” She grinned playfully.

Savar said nothing for a moment as they walked until he replied "It would eliminate any rope burns."

Aurora looked at Savar and couldn’t help but laugh.
