Recovery

Posted on Fri May 21st, 2021 @ 6:10am by Captain Rhenora Kaylen & Commander Savar cha'Salik hei-Surak Talek-sen-deen & Major Kaden Ross & Lieutenant Bonnie "Bon-Bon" Durnell

Mission: Trapped in Time
Location: Bridge

The bridge of the USS Liberty fell eerily quiet as the Prophet disappeared, leaving a stunned silence in its wake. Captain Kaylen took a deep steadying breath and turned her attention back to the crew.

"Status?" She asked, wanting to know their exact situation before she made a decision as to their next course of action.

"All systems and power levels coming back to normal Captain," Savar replied from the XO station.

In his typical fashion, Kaden stood there completely dumbfounded. "Okay, what the hell just happened?"

Rhenora turned to face her bridge crew with a smirk. " I think a Prophet just paid us a visit and entrusted us with making sure the crew of the freighter gets back to Bajor safe and sound"

Bonnie stood, she had never seen a Celestial Being before and as it took the shape of Naprem, all she could think about was 'what will happen to the poor girl now'? She stood at attention, hands behind her back, feet apart. "Computer systems report nominal, all systems go. We have eight new Bajoran life signs on board, holding in the transporter room on your orders Captain."

She paused as she double-checked the consol behind her. "Also, I am showing the temporal distortion bubble is gone. The engine core on the Alla appears to be inactive, no longer in a state of decay. If Lt. Ross could confirm, I believe the Alla is safe to tractor home." Bonnie offered.

"That's the best news I've heard in a long time" The tension began to release from the Captain's shoulders and she exhaled deeply. "Lt House, can you please escort out guests to sickbay for evaluation and treatment. Mr Ross, run a final scan of the Alla and see if she's safe to tow. I'm sure there's a museum on Bajor that would be thrilled to have her." The Captain ordered, as she sat back in her command chair with a quiet sigh. That wasn't exactly how she'd thought this little escapade would end but she was thankful that everyone was in one peice.

Kaden took a few moments to complete his scans. "Showing no signs of temporal activities minus some minor damage and overdue maintenance she is is safe." He rested his hands on top the console. "I do report a causality, however."

Kaylen's heart skipped a beat as she heard the word casualty. It wasn't something she ever liked to hear. What had gone wrong? She thought they had beamed everyone off, had they missed someone?

"A casualty? Do you have more information?" She prompted.

"Yes, my wits! Has it not occurred to anyone here that prophet tried to shoot me?!" Kaden exclaimed.

" Ahhh" Rhenora chuckled in good nature " But I believe it took you as a threat and was protecting the crew of the freighter. Just be thankful they didn't send you to the Fire Caves for all eternity"

Kaden's face turned pale. "Oh wonderful barely reunited with my family and I could of wound up in a Bajoran version of hell. Thanks, Skip, that will certainly help me sleep well tonight."

Savar eyed Kaden, his gaze even colder than normal. "Major, in the future you will address the Commanding Officer of this ship as Captain and not Skip. This is the bridge of a starship and not a high school football game."

Rhenora remained quiet but nodded towards Savar in thanks for maintaining the decorum of the bridge.

"Mr Ross & Freya, engage tractor beam and see if we can keep that freighter in one piece while we tow it out of here, Helm, once tractor beam in stable, reverse thrust and take us back out of the wormhole. Commander Savar, you have the bridge, I will welcome our new guest - I think we may have some explaining to do."

"Aye Captain." Savar acknowledged as the Liberty began a reverse course out of the wormhole.

Rhenora rose and headed towards the turbolift doors, thankful that all was now under control.
